Jackson - Golden/Shepherd for sale in Chino Valley, Arizona

$150

It's literally tearing me apart having to do this.... but I have no other choice.
Jackson was dropped off at New Hope Dog Rescue in Mesa with no information or owners to be found. They took him in and soon realized he need A-LOT of work. Not wanting to put forth the time or effort, they sent him off to MCACC. They soon had the same realization, and put him on the E-list. The day before he was to be killed, YHS in Prescott swooped in and took him in. That was where I stepped in. At the shelter, looking for a dog for my mom, I saw this bundle of joy sitting in his kennel and fell in love. I wasn't planning on finding a dog for me, but I took him out to the Bark Park and I was sold. Immediately, the paperwork was done and I took him home.
The next 3 or so months have been filled with treats, training classes, LOTS of cuddles, playtime, and overall happiness. Jackson brought a joy into my life that I didn't know I needed. He's currently attending obedience classes and is at the top of his class. He is the most well-behaved and listens the best of the 30-something dogs there.
I was surprised and over-joyed to realize that he does not have an aggressive bone in his body. I take him into the chicken pen when I collect eggs, and he barely even notices them. I have goats and sometimes we let them out to eat weeds, and they ignore each other. I have 6 year old twin brothers and he's a little jumpy but he loves them to death. I have 4 cats and he wants to cuddle up to them (although he's so big and bouncy that he scares them off). The other two dogs on the land have a blast playing with him. He's been confronted by big, intimidating (sometimes aggressive) dogs and he just gives 'em kisses to rile them up and takes off in the other direction.
Jackson's #1 favorite thing EVER is... you guessed it. CUDDLES! He would do absolutely anything to get you on the ground with him so he can literally tackle you to kiss you and then collapse on top of you (Picture 1 & 2). He is still a puppy so he sleeps in a crate, but he enjoys cuddles in your bed before he's locked up for the night.
Jackson came to my home knowing ONLY how to walk well on a leash. In 3 months, he has been socialized with lots of animals, house-trained, crate-trained, broken almost all his bad habits (nipping, jumping, ripping stuff up, barking, begging/stealing food, barrelling into people, running through doorways without waiting, and much more), and has brought joy and love to everyone he's met.
Because he's a puppy still, some of the habits listed above (jumping on new people, ripping things up, running into people when he's not paying attention) have been harder to break, but we are working on it. Everything else is 100% solved. He's perfectly house-trained, sleeps soundlessly in his crate every night, uses the command "Wait" before going through any open doorway, "come"s, "sit"s, "lay down"s, and "stay"s every time he's asked, heels perfectly on a leash (I use a choke chain but it really isn't necessary), gets along with everyone and everyone, behaves well in public (he LOVES dog parks) and thrives on any attention.
He is NOT a dog you can throw in the backyard and forget about. He is ABSOLUTELY a family dog and would have the time of his life if you take him places with you and let him keep you company in the house. He's relatively calm for a puppy, but of course, he still has issues and energy that needs to be worked with.
It absolutely breaks my heart to do this, but I might be moving out of the U.S., and if not, I'll be moving cross-country and I won't be able to bring him along. I love him to death and these past few months have been so, so, so happy because he's been right by my side the whole time.
All in all, Jackson is an 8 month old (born October 20, 2014) Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix puppy. He has problems that need to be worked with and he needs another dog to run around with, but he has YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS of love to give you and every single second of trouble he may cause will be 500% worth it. He was adopted from a shelter so he's neutered, up to date on ALL shots, and micro-chipped. I have a folder from the shelter full of all of his information and coupons to a few pet stores for supplies. He's also SO GORGEOUS, he's got a beautiful coat that doesn't shed much, a mix of stunning colors, floppy ears, big, loving eyes, and the biggest heart you'll find. He's a mix of the two most-intelligent, best-family, most loving, and all-around-GREATEST dog breeds, in my opinion.
He comes with some of his food and his collar, but just him will be enough to fulfill your need of company and affection for 10+ years. I'm asking a rehoming fee of $150 for him to cover his adoption fee and the obedience classes that he has gone through.
He is an amazing dog and you'll love him to death. Thank you for considering.
